This is a great all around, general purpose conventional rod. These rods are extremely durable and should last you a lifetime. They are 7' tall and great for casting heavier lures, throwing a couple ounce sinker or for setting the hook bottom fishing. They have been a favorite rod for Striper fisherman for years.
